Simplified Procedures for One Source

If the contracting officer reasonably expects offers will include only commercial items, this authorizes the use of simplified procedures for the acquisition of supplies and services in amounts of a certain dollar threshold,  The purpose of these simplified procedures is to vest contracting officers with procedural discretion and flexibility to procure commercial items in a simplified manner that maximizes efficiency and minimizes administrative costs for both the Government and industry.
