How to Update your SAM Record

### THIS IS NOT LEGAL ADVICE ###

Every year you must “refresh” your SAM Record by simply going into the system and clicking “Continue” until you reach the end. Sometimes you will have to go into SAM to add NAICS Codes. The instructions below will help with both cases:

  1. Go to the SAM Website: https://www.sam.gov/SAM/pages/public/index.jsf
  2. Click “Login” on the top right
  3. Enter your Email Address & Password, Click “Sign In” (May text you a verification code for security)
  4. “Accept”
  5. On the left navigation: Entity Registrations > Existing Entity Registrations
  6. Under “Entity List” table, select your company name > in the table below that select the “Update Entity” button
  7. In the dropdown, select “All Sections Applicable …” > Next
  8. Near the beginning you will need to note the MPIN for later on, It reveals the last 4 characters. If you do not know what it is, then rest it and keep the new MPIN somewhere in your records for next year.
  9. Click “Save & Continue” until you reach the end
    • If you are adding or updating NAICS Codes, then stop in the “Assertions > Goods and Services” section and make the changes there.
    • Sometimes there will be new terms/conditions, when you click “Save and Continue” red error messages will appear at the top to direct you to where an answer is needed.
