For this to be successful, there are a 3 considerations the GSA Contracting Officer (CO) will make:
- The Dollar Value – The more a PO is worth, the better chance the CO will use it to justify an expedite. Small orders will not make as much of an impact in the decision to expedite as large orders, obviously.
- The Likelihood of Winning the Award – If the buyer states that they only want you to get the GSA Contract in order to bid on the RFQ, then that does not translate to a guarantee. So, it is much better to have the buyer state that they will very likely use your company to suit their needs (the buyer will often not fully commit).
- The Products or Services Involved – The GSA likes to see that your products or services will be utilized. If your products or services are seen as a desirable or upcoming high impact items, then the GSA will scramble to get you on their Schedule.
